A friend texted me this morning to ask where I’ve been (I haven’t talked to him in about a month). I told him I was eaten by the grad school monster. That’s how I feel today. I’m the girl who ordered a double shot in the dark (drip coffee with two shots of espresso in it) at 6:45pm…and is still almost falling asleep in my chair at 11pm. I’m tired.
And I want to be committed to this 30 days of thankfulness project, but I’ll admit, it is becoming difficult. I’m spending a lot of time writing lately, and my motivation to write for fun has lessened a bit. Plus now that I’ve decided I’m done with work for the night, I just want to sleep. I don’t even want to take 5 minutes to write a blog post.
(I’m making myself tonight, though. You’re welcome.)
Today, I am thankful for laughter. I love to laugh…long and loud and clear (anybody get that Mary Poppins reference? Yeah, I went there). I’m grateful that I was blessed with a sense of humor as well as the ability to find joy and fun in almost any situation. I’m grateful to have friends and family who make me laugh regularly.
Rather than try to keep my eyelids open any longer trying to share things that have made me laugh lately, I’ll just share two clips from my very favorite episode of The Office. I have watched them probably a dozen times the past few days, and they just never get old. I laugh every single time. Hopefully they’ll fill a few moments of your day with laughter too.
In the midst of a lot of stress and not enough sleep, laughter has become even more important to keep me sane.
Today, I’m thankful for laughter.
